CITY OF BAIRD: If you are wondering, “What can I do to help?”

City of Baird issued the following announcement on March 17

Callahan County Nutrition Project (Baird And Clyde Meals on Wheels) will be collecting items for care packages, to be delivered by the Meals on Wheels Volunteers to our elderly and disabled clients when they deliver their daily meal next week.

Both the Baird and Clyde programs will be taking donations of the following items from Wednesday, March 18th through Tuesday, March 24th.

Your favorite Dollar Stores have $1 aisles that has lots of great things for the care packages.

For Baird, please take the items to Baird Senior Center located at 401 Chestnut St., between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday - Friday.

For Clyde, please take items to Clyde Senior Center, located at 123 N. 4th St. between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday - Friday.

We will need 25 care packages for Baird and 50 for Clyde.

Care Packages to include but not limited to the follow items (store brand will be fine).

Paper Towels

Kleenex

Toilet paper

Small bottles of bleach

Dishwashing Liquid

Bars of soap (2 or 3)

Toothpaste

Detergent for washing clothes

Water

Snacks such as crackers and cheese, granola bars, soups, rice, tuna, Vienna Sausages, etc
