Abilene Christian College recently issued the following announcement.
Canceled-ACU Teacher Renewal Retreat
Teaching is not for the faint of heart. It is an intellectually, spiritually, and physically demanding vocation. That’s why the ACU Department of Teacher Education and Sheila Quinn Resources invites ACU education alumni who are in their 5th through 15th year of teaching to the Retreat for a Teacher’s Heart, June 22-23 at the beautiful Watchtower Ranch in Desdemona, Texas.
The focus of the retreat is to explore a teacher’s prayer life through creativity and imagination. Together with fellow ACU alum, we will practice both communal and individual prayer exercises. Participants will engage in guided and self-directed journaling and meditation, as well as tactile exploration of prayer through the arts. Our time together will embrace the seasons of both celebration and despair that come with the classroom life. In particular, we will focus on prayers for common work, prayers of lament, and centering prayers. Between structured sessions there will be time to catch up with old friends, meet new ones, and explore the grounds of Watchtower Ranch.
The event will be facilitated by Dr. Sheila Delony, former education professor at ACU. For more information about Sheila, visit sheilaquinn.com.
