Vaccine

City of Abilene issued the following announcement on June 17

Appointments now available for BACK TO SCHOOL immunizations

The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health Department would like to encourage residents to schedule an appointment for BACK TO SCHOOL immunizations as soon as possible. The District is hosting its annual immunization clinic by appointment only this year to eliminate large crowds in the lobby waiting area and to practice social distancing.

Appointments are now available and can be made by calling (325) 437-4675.

New students entering school for the first time (pre-k, kindergarten, first grade) and 7th graders will need immunizations.

  • Bring shot records and any insurance or Medicaid cards.
  • Insurance accepted:  Medicaid, CHIP, BCBS, 1st Care, Private pay
  • Cash or check only (no credit or debit)
  • By appointment only.  No walk-ins accepted.
Immunization clinic hours of operation:

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Temperatures will be taken at the entrance to the health department.  If you or your child are not feeling well, have a fever or any symptoms of COVID-19, you must reschedule your appointment.  Please limit the number of people you bring to your appointment to only one adult and the children who need to be immunized if possible to avoid unnecessary exposure to others.
