City of Abilene issued the following announcement on Nov. 6
The majority of City of Abilene offices and service centers will be closed Wednesday, November 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Abilene Police and Fire will be in operation. For water emergencies, call the water hotline anytime at 325.676.6000. For animal related emergencies, contact APD Dispatch at 325.673.8331.

Abilene Regional Airport administration office
Abilene Taylor County Public Health District & MERCY Health Clinic
City Hall
Convention Center offices
Community Services office, recreation centers, & senior services
Customer Service Center & Abilene Municipal Court (11/11/20 citations will be due 11/12/20)
Main & Mockingbird libraries
Police & Fire administration offices
Solid Waste Services office, Environmental Recycling Center, & Abilene Brush Center
Trash Pick-up & Abilene Brush Center:
Residential and commercial pick-up will run on regular schedule
CityLink Transit:
Will run on regular schedule
The South Branch Library at the Mall of Abilene will be open regular hours.
The Abilene Zoo will be open regular hours.
The Abilene Animal Shelter will be open regular hours.
