2.6% of Taylor County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Taylor County recorded an unemployment rate of 2.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,887 people out of the 141,739 living in Taylor County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Taylor County has decreased compared to the 2.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Taylor County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 70,808 people who had a job during that time, 4,183 were employed in the Armed Forces and 66,625 belonged to the civilian labor force.
