Enrollment Analysis: African American students comprised 0.8% of Clyde CISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 12 African American students enrolled in Clyde CISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 14.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Clyde CISD schools welcomed 1,440 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 0.8% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Clyde CISD roughly covers schools within Callahan County and has a main office in Clyde.

Among the four schools in Clyde CISD schools, Clyde High School recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of four students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
