Abilene Christian University has hit record enrollment numbers for the third consecutive year.

5,293 students enrolled for the fall semester at the university. According to ACU reports, the most notable increase came through a total of 10 new online undergraduate programs. The programs were introduced through ACU Dallas, which is the university’s online degree programs.

However, this year, ACU is offering 15 online undergraduate and 19 online graduate programs. Overall, ACU Dallas saw an increase of 17% when compared to the enrollment numbers last year.

ACU president Phil Schubert says the numbers would have been higher if students weren't having to deal with COVID-19 fears.

“With predictions that 15-20% of college-bound students might choose not to enroll due to the pandemic, we’re especially pleased to see our total enrollment continue to climb,” Schubert told ACU Today. “This represents significant effort on the part of faculty and staff who continue to adjust to a rapidly changing environment. I’m thankful for and proud of their work.”
