Hardin Simmons University issued the following announcement on Dec. 4
During World Kindness Day on November 13, 2020, HSU’s many clubs, dorm halls, programs, and colleges all participated in displaying random acts of kindness around campus that ended up lasting all week.
Kicking it off was student life in partnership with the Student Activity Board (SABERS), who led activities to engage students. These included creating friendship bracelets, writing kindness notes, indulging in free cupcakes, and photo booth opportunities.
Throughout the month of November, HSU’s College of Health Professions organized a Thanksgiving meal drive to benefit families at Ortiz Elementary. Administration, faculty, staff, and students all came together to help fill over 70 Thanksgiving baskets that were delivered to the school on Nov.19th.
P.A.C.K, a student campus group focused on spreading awareness for pediatric cancer, sponsored a karaoke night fundraiser to benefit the Pinky Swear Foundation and the Honors program assisted Love & Care Ministries, an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of those living in poverty or experiencing homelessness.
Kindness is something that we can do and share every day, not just one day of the year, Hardin-Simmons University is committed to being a campus that cares.
