Stamford ISD Education: 620 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 620 students enrolled in Stamford ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 50.5% of the Stamford ISD total enrollment.

Stamford ISD roughly covers schools within Jones County with its main office in Stamford.

Among the three schools in Stamford ISD, Oliver Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 285 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
