There were 2,839 Hispanic students enrolled in Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 75.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools welcomed 6,191 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 45.9% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Roscoe Collegiate ISD roughly covers schools within Nolan County and has a main office in Roscoe.

Among the four schools in Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools, Lone Star Online Academy recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 2,483 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
