Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.7% of Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 44 American Indian students enrolled in Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1,000% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Roscoe Collegiate ISD schools welcomed 6,191 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.7% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Roscoe Collegiate ISD roughly covers schools within Nolan County and has a main office in Roscoe.

Lone Star Online Academy was the only school in the district which enrolled American Indian students, welcoming 44 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
